judgement was the proper money of Robert Craige. But that George Dennistown fearing some would be discovered he and Robert Craige had so ordered it That Margaret Craige mother of Robert Craige and widow of Lewis Craige after 24 years of widowhood, during which time she was sole manager of the estate of her eldest son Thomas Craige, and she did not during that time pretend to have and claim on the Irish estate for her, jointure, but that same was charged as the Scottish estate. That George Dennistown and Arthur Dennistown knowing Robert Craige was a dealer in Ireland and had a great glasswork and had built a fine ship. He had taken ? John Forbes money to pay for same, and that Thomas Quin and John Forbes were in actual possession of said moiety of said lands at the time of said purchase by George Dennistown of the debts so mortgaged by Dennistown on the lands, so that they could not pretend ignorance of such facts. That George and Arthur Dennistown and Robert Craige prevailed on Margaret Craige to bring a writ for dower against the Irish estate, and it was arranged between them that George Dennistown would oppose Jane and proffer a bill in this Hon. Court against Margaret setting forth she already had her dower settled on the Scottish estate, and Geoge Dennistown by under hand methods agreed to get £200 judgement for Margaret charged on the Irish estate and a third part of the profits thereof from the tenants since the time that Lewis Craige died, all of which comes to near the sum of £4,000. That George and Arthur Dennistown say they paid Thomas Quin and John Forbes £1,142-17/1 although the truth is they really paid nothing, that being the sum paid to Quin and Forbes by Plt. That George Dennistown particularly gives out he paid the debts due to Mr Castleton and William Mager which debts are due by Robert Craige and are included in the £2,600 as alleged, yet their judgement still remains on record that George and Arthur Dennistown have received the profits of said estate for several years in order as they allege to pay said debts of £1,500 and £800, yet nothing appears to have been paid; and they refuse to allow the tenants to pay their rent to Plt. That John Beaty did attoen? tenant to Thomas Quin and John Forbes and did pay his yearly rent of £7 to them, and did also promise to pay same to Plt., but the said John Beaty combing with George Dennistown, Arthur Dennistown, Margaret Craige and Robert Craige, and the said John Beaty alias Betty, William Irvine, John Tremble, John Eliot, [here follows the list of tenants names exactly as in heading of the bill down to :-] John Forbes do refuse to show Plt. their deeds and lease to said moiety of land of Aghabane and the other lands. That John Beaty paid his rent, and so did the rest of the tenants to Thomas Quin and John Forbes until the time that Quin and Forbes assigned the premises to Plt. but since then they had refused &c &c Prays that writs may be gtd agst [here follows list of names exactly as in the Bill heading] to answer in the premises Bill entered 19 May 1709
