September 5, 1746. Indenture of Lease. James Beatty of Clownish, Co. Monaghan, Gent. leased to William Hamilton of Newry, Co. Down, merchant “all ye tenement late in ye possession of James Moore ? younger, merc’t” as well as land now in the possession of Ja’s Blair, merchant situate in Numbeity Lott in Lisdrumgullion, Co. Armagh. Lease for the natural life of William Hamilton; yearly rent of £25. Witnesses: John McCamon, Robt Thompson & George Walker all of Newry, gentlemen. Memorial also witnessed by Richard Robinson of City of Dublin, Gent. [Another parcel of land is mentioned in the town of Newry. My copy of this deed is very hard to read.—LTB] |
