July 12, 1768; Lease between George Beatty of Lismoy, County Longford, Gent and Nicholas Cooke of Newtown Forbes, County Longford, Wheelright. George Beatty lease to Nicholas Cooke 5 acres of land in the Parish of Clonges, County Longford for the natural lives of Nicholas Cooke and Elizabeth Cooke otherwise Patterson, his wife and yearly rent of six pounds sixteen shillings and six pence. One clause in the lease "[Nicholas Cooke] did Covenant for him his heirs Exr's and Admr's not any time during said demise to Let any part of said Premises to a Papist by lease, article or any other instrument in writing and with a penalty of s'd George Beatty his heirs and assigns the additional rent of three pounds for every ?? every year during s'd term so held by a Papist."
