February 11, 1756; “Between Alexander Rankin of Muynachan in the County of Fermanagh Gent of the one part in the behalf of his daughter Sarah Rankin and said James Beatty of Mackenny in the County of Tyrone Gent of the other part in the behalf of his son Guy Betty witnessing that the said Guy Betty was to marry and take to wife, the said Sarah Rankin before the first day of March then next by which said indented Instrument the said James Betty did grant sell and confirm unto the s’d Guy Betty or his heirs male or female begotten on the body of the said Sarah Rankin all the intire half of the said James Betty’s holding of Lands called Killer & Cavenalegh and the appurtenances lying in the Barony of Tirkennedy and County of Fermanagh to hold in as full and ample manner as the said James Betty then hold the same in consideration of a marriage portion of fifty pounds sterling by the said Instrument agreed and promised to be paid by the said Alexander Rankin to the said Guy Betty with the said Sarah Rankin on the first day of May one thousand seven hundred and fifty seven and also in consideration of the sum of five shillings ster to the said James Betty by the said Guy Betty then in hand paid in which said indented instrument there are several other covenants and clauses and the same is witnessed by James Elliott of Drumanny in sd county of Fermanagh and George Rankin of Magnachan in s’d County of Fermanagh and this Memorial is witnessed by the said James Elliott and by John Johnston of the city of Dublin Gent.
