January 8, 1749. “Between John Betty of Killymittan in the County of Fermanagh of the one part and Mary Betty otherwise Stephens of Killymittan and county aforesaid mother to the said John Betty of the other part whereby the said John Betty did for himself his heirs and assigns for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds ster to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he did thereby acknowledge give grant and convey unto the said Mary Betty her Exr Amr & Assigns all his right title and interest of in and to the Town and Lands of Gortnashangan situate lying and being in the parish of Killmore Barony of Clenmahon and County of Cavan…” Witnesses: Robert Johnston of Dresdenon, Co. Fermanagh, gent. George Landrum of Creese in the Co. of Tyrone, Gent; James Betty of Makenny and John Betty of Cavanalough, both of Co. Fermanagh.
