April 23, 1753. Indented Deed of Lease. “Between Rev. Veaitch Beatty (sic) of Killsob, Co. Cavan of the one part and Alexander Patterson and Thomas Ennis both of Arderry and William Patterson of Torgormby and George Mason of Claragh all of the said County of Cavan farmers of the other part reciting that in the year one thousand seven hundred & twenty five Major General Owen Wynne of Sligo did by indenture demise unto Adam Beatty of Aughawinagh in the County of Cavan all that parcel of land known by Kiltob Gortonan Tonnymocabre and Mulloghmore in said county of Cavan for and during the lives of said Adam Beatty, Veaitch Betty eldest son of said Adam and John Betty second son of sd Adam or the longest liver of them at the yearly rent of fifty five pounds and that said deed was witnessed by Robert Hamilton, Edward Martin and Henry Doogan whereby said Veaitch Beatty as heir at law to s’d Adam Betty hath set and to farm let unto the said Alex’r Patterson, Thos Ennis, William Patterson and George Mason their heirs, Exrs and assigns all that part of the Pole land commonly known by Lower Kilsob meared by the road which leads from the middle pole of Kilsob to the bridge of Bawnboy and on the other side by Tirrorin and the land whereon the said Beatty dwells in as full and ample a manner as said Beatty formerly possessed same except one acre of meadow and half an acre of Bogg for the use of said Beatty and John Bourke.
