A Memorial of an Indented Ar'cle of agreem't bearing Date the twelfth day of Feb'ry one thous'd seven hundred and Seventy one and made between Claud Beatty of Wateraughy in the County of Cavan, Clothier of the one part and Jane Nicholls daur of Simon Nicolls of Kancers(?) and County afores'd of the other part. Reciting that a Marriage was shortly Intended to be Solemnized between the said Claud Beatty and the said Jane Nicolls with whom said Claud Beatty was to have & receive the sum of one hundred pounds sterling as a Marriage portion and that the s'd Claud Beatty in Consideration of the s'd Marriage and Marriage portion in order to make a provision for said Jane his Intended wife in Case she should happen to survive s'd Claud her intended hub'd that in such case s'd Jane was to have perceive and take the sum of ten pounds ster. yearly and every year during her natural life to be a ?? and payable out of the house and tenement at Cavan bequeathed to the s'd Claud by his father and out of that part of the lands of Wateraughy aforesaid now held by the s'd Claud the same to be paid half yearly which article or Instrument witnessed by Geo. Nicolls of Shancor and Geo Nicolls of Lossett both in the County of Cavan aforesaid, gent. and the Mem'l is also witnessed by the s'd Geo Nicolls of Lossett afores'd Claud Beatty (Seal)
