Plaintiff: Thomas Nethery of Lisburn co., Antrim, shoemaker, sheweth That William Betty of Lisburn, aforesaid, farmer, in conson that Plt secured several beneficial bargains for said Wm. Betty in his way of trade and had done several other good offices and services for sd. Wm Betty, he (Betty) did in May 1721 propose that if Plt. would leave his present dwelling house, where Plt was well settled in business and removed to Betty's neighborhood he (Betty) would bestow on Plt that piece of ground worth £10 per ann. situate near the Bridge of Lisburn and joining to the dwelling house of said Betty. That Plt. accordingly agreed and Betty by writing did in May 1721 convey to Plt. said piece of ground, to hold to Plt for life free from all demands whatsoever and after Plts' death same to go to Plts daughter Janett for life clear of any rent. That Plt. accordingly entered upon the premises and was possessed thereof and built a good farm house at Plts' own cost. That Plt. from sd year 1721 continued in quiet possession of said house until said written agreement was stolen from Plt. and same has come to the hands of Betty who thereupon gave out that Plt. had no right to enjoy said house and did forcibly enter into possession of one half of said, house and did in May 1731 demise said half of said house so built by Plt to some persons in sd town of Lisburn without any direction from Plt, although Plt was in possession of sd premises till May 1731. That Betty has thereout received upwards of three years rent amounting to £6 and upwards, and still continues in possession. That Plt lately applied to Betty to restore Plt to quiet possession of sd house. But now so this Betty combining with James O'Diddell and Janett O'Diddell alias Nethery his wife and daughter to Plt. do refuse to give Plt any satisfaction for such rent as Betty has rec'd out of said half house or to restore same to Plt. and doth threaten to eject Plt out of the premises and that he will compel Plt to pay rent. Prays that writs be gtd agst Wm. Betty, James O'Diddell and Janet O'Diddell alias Nethery to answer in the premises

Plaintiffs John Betty and Robert Hasard, gents shews That Plts in 1701 or 1702 did take the hearth money of co. Roscommon farm. That Plt Betty having occasion to buy cattle was informed that one Owen Tolan, who looked after the stock of Col. Manus O Donnell.
