Memorial of Lease and Release dated 26 and 27 Oct. 1796, between William Betty of Killymitten, co. Fermanagh, gent. and Stephen Betty eldest son and heir apparent of sd Wm Betty of the one part; and John Crozier of Clonecarne, co. Fermanagh, Esq., and Guy Betty of Monaghan, co. Fermanagh, gent. of the other part. Reciting that said Wm. Betty stood seized of an estate for life in the lands and premises herein after mentioned; with remainder to his sd son Stephen Betty intail male. Witnesseth in order to bar said estate so intail male and in conson. of 10/- to Wm. Betty and Stephen Betty paid by John Crozier and Guy Betty then Wm. & Stephen Betty released to John Crozier and Guy Betty that undivided fourth part of the town and lands of Killymitten then in tenure of sd Wm Betty, situate in barony of Tyrkennedy, co. Fermanagh. To hold to John Crozier and Guy Betty for the lives in being of the original lease of said premises and under the rents there of , in trust to the use of Wm. Betty for life, then in trust as to one moiety of said premises, the whole into two parts divided to the use of sd Stephen Betty and his heirs, and the other part to the use of Wm. Betty, the younger (brother by the half-blood to sd Stephen Betty) and his heirs he being totally unprovided for.

Memorial of Lease dated 1798 between Stephen Betty of the Grove, co. [a whole line out in the transcript, which about this period are very defective--PC] Whereby said Stephen Betty to farmlet to said Wm Betty, junior; that part of the lands of Killimittin then in his possession being one eight part of the whole of said lands in as ample a manner as Wm. Betty the elder then lately held same and as sd. Stephen Betty now held same, situate in the manor of Newport, co. Fermanagh. To hold to sd Wm Betty, junior and his heirs from 2 June last for the life of sd Wm. Betty the elder or for the term of 10 years, at £11 rent with a clause that should sd Stephen Betty die without issue that the sd Wm. Betty was to be entitled, by virtue of an agreement with said Wm. Betty the elder, to said part, together with the part then demised to him making in the whole one fourth part of said lands of Killimittin, forever.
