Son to Deft. John Betty, and this Dept. farmed and improved the land. That afterwards James Johnston refused to abate this Dept's rent but this Dept. continued on said lands for 4 years after and paid his rent to James Johnston. That 4 years before this Deft. left said lands Plt. Sam Johnston became a yearly tenant to James Johnston for a moiety of Tullycallrick. Has heard that “black John Betty one of ye Deft's Depont's” say that Deft. John Betty offered to sell said lands to him for 10 guineas. That the lands lay waste for two years after Deft. John Betty purchased them, and this Dept. was the first tenant thereon and built a dwelling house for himself and his neighbors thereon to the value of £8. [Signed:] Patrick M'Anaran.
Laghlin O'Managhan of Fardreen, Co. Fermanagh, farmer, aged 35. Knows Plt. Sam Johnston and Deft. John Betty since a boy. That John Betty was agent to Phebe Blenerhasset. Knows the lands for 10 yrs. and that Plt. Sam Johnston was possessed thereof by inheritance from his father, and in 1692 said land was waste and not worked, and a chief landlord's rent for two years not paid. That this Dept. and others took it for 7 years at that time. That Plt. Sam Johnston came to said lands and settled himself thereon as a yearly tenant to Deft. John Betty. That at one time Plt. Sam Johnston offered to sell his interest in said lands to David Irvin. That when Patrick M'Anaran and others took said lands from Deft. John Betty there was no building thereon. Christopher Graham of Carne, Co. Fermanagh, gent., aged 40. Knows Plt. Sam Johnston & Deft. John Betty 20 years, because he has lived in the neighborhood. That Deft. John Betty was agent to Phebe Blenerhasset knows the lands of Tullycallrick for 20 years because he, this Dept. was next neighbor to them. That Plt. Sam Johnston held the land in fee farm and having become in arrear of rent for £10 he conveyed the lands to Deft. John Betty to pay said arrear upon a provisoe of redemption. Heard that James Johnston obtained said lands from Deft. John Betty on account of him James Johnston having suffered a deal of trouble for being bound for Deft. John Betty. That Sam Johnston came to said lands and lived there in light of said James Johnston but does not know at what rent. That in 1692 said land was waste and in the hands of Deft. John Betty for a year or two, and that afterwards John Betty & tenants built some houses on it. [Signed:] Christopher Graham.

Johnston was in a poor condition in 1692, and becoming in arrear of his rent conveyed his interest therein to Deft. John Betty
