Prerogative Will:
Edward Beatty of city of Dublin, merchant.
To be buried in the churchyard of Glasnevin near my late wife and children.
To my dear dau. Mary Furnell alias Beatty £1,500 as a testimony of my sense of her great attention, love and duty towards me.
To my dear dau.-in-law Olivia, widow of my late dear son David Beatty the yearly sum of £100 for her life above her marriage settlement, and also leave to my said dau-in-law the use of either of my dwelling houses in Dublin or in the country as she shall choose.
To Thomas Bell of the city of Dublin, Esq. my estate called Glynn or the Glynn Estate in Co. Wexford purchased by me from George Ogle, Esq., and all the lands comprising that estate upon the following trusts, first to permit my eldest grandson Edward Beatty to receive the yearly rents thereof for his life, then to his heirs male, remainder to my second grandson Thomas Beatty; remainder to my third grandson David Beatty; remainder to my grand-dau Olivia Beatty; remainder to the daughters of my said grandchildren as tenants in common, remainder to my right heirs.
To said Thomas Bell my estate and lands in Co. Wicklow lately purchased by me from Mr. Read and all the lands comprising that estate upon the following trusts: -- to permit my second grandson Thomas Beatty to receive the yearly rents thereof for life, then to his heirs male; remainder to my third grandson David Beatty; remainder to my fourth grandson Robert Beatty; remainder to my fifth grandson Frederick Beatty; remainder to my eldest grandson Edward Beatty; remainder to my grand-dau Olivia; remainder to the daus. of my grandson Thomas Beatty; remainder to the female issue of my said other grandchildren David, Robert, Frederick, Olivia and Edward Beatty as tenants in common.
Should my grandson Edward Beatty die under 21 the said Glynn estate in CO. Wexford to be subject to the limitations aforesaid unto my 2nd grandson Thomas Beatty, then in that case my Co. Wicklow estate shall devolve to my third grandson David Beatty in like manner subject to the limitations concerning the Wicklow estate as aforesaid.
To my said grand-dau. Olivia Beatty £2,000 when 21 or on marriage.
To Miss Elizabeth Steel who now lives with me £20 yearly for her life in consideration of her constant care and attention to me.
As to the residue of my real, freehold and personal estate whatsoever I bequeath same to my three grandsons David Beatty, Robert Beatty and Frederick Beatty equally and should any of them die share to survivor of said three grandsons, and should my grand-dau Olivia die said £2,000 to s’d three grandsons.
To my faithful clerk Thomas Herd £100.
To the Governors of the Charity school in p’sh of St. Andrew’s Dublin, £20.
To my exrs 10 guineas for the sole use of my step-daughter Mary Houghton.
