Killaconkill, co. Leitrim, High Sheriff, Co. Leitrim 1684, who was killed in action near Cavan 12 April 1689 (admon 5 April 1693). She d.s.p., Prerog. admon. to John Beatty of Corr, the brother, 29 Oct. 1706??. She was of Longfield, Co. Leitrim.

    III. Margaret Beatty:
The eldest son of John Beatty of Farranseer (d. 1681) was:
John Beatty2 of Corr, Killeshandra, Co. Cavan, m. 1st Sep?? (Probably the Qr Mr. 1662 – 1678 See PP. 255a ?? dated 15 Oct., 1663, Margaret dau. of Rev. James Layng, Rector of Killeshandra, dio. Kilmore, and by her had an only son: --
        I. Claud Beatty of Coolarty, Co. Longford, a Lieut. in the army, who on 16 Feb.1725-6, brought a bill in the Court of Chancery agst. his father and half brothers and sisters, saying that Corr had been settled in 1663 on the issue of his fathers’ marriage with Margaret Layng, but that Richard Young, brother of Claud’s father’s second wife, had prevailed on him to leave Corr to the issue of his second marriage, Claud’s widow Isabella, in a Chancery Bill 14 Jan 1730-1 states that it was left to the award of Charles Beatty of Farranseer, Esq., who decided that Edmond Beatty, who got Corr, was to pay Claud £200. Lieut. Claud Beatty’s will was proved Prerog. 28 Oct. 1724. He entailed Coolarty, otherwise Spring Park on Pakenham, Charles, and John, sons of his late brother John Beatty of Springtown. He left no issue by Isabella his wife, who was aunt of Anne McCally, ats Gordon, who was daughter of Aungier Gordon of Robinstown, co. Longford, High Sheriff Co. Longford, 1721. The McCally’s after this were of Robinstown.

John Beatty of Corr, m. 2ndly Mary, sister of Richard Young, of Drumgoon and aunt of Francis Young, of Corlismore and James Young of Laherd, all in co. Cavan. Claud in the Chancery Bill of 1725-6, states that during the Revolution of 1689, the deeds of Corr were buried in the ground for safety, and were there injured by moisture and damp. John Beatty’s will was dated 21 July 1722. He does not name his daus., parties to the Chancery suit of 14 Feb. 1725-6, and leaves Corr to his youngest son Edmond “on account of the care he has taken of me these several years past, I myself being infirm in my limbs , and able to do myself no service.” The will was proved in the diocese of Kilmore 10 Feb. 1726-7. By his second wife Mary Young, he had two more sons and two daus:--

    III.    Edmond Beatty, of Corr, m. Jane only dau. of Samuel Deyos, and was living 30 June 1770, having had issue:--
        1. Edmond Beatty, oldest son & heir apparent b. 1740, aged 30 1770, Plt in Chancery Bill 30 June 1770, Beatty v. Beatty.

        3. Charles, buried at Killeshandra 1736.
