Cahill oge O'Managhan of Crollagh, Co. Fermanagh, farmer, aged 40. Knows Plt. & Deft. John Betty 20 years, and Phebe Hasset 20 years. Knows the lands of Tullycallrick 20 years because he always lived in the neighborhood. Never knew how Plt. Sam Johnston was possessed of said lands until he came to convey same to Deft. John Betty, and that he was possessed thereof and derived his title under Betty who acted as agent for Phebe Blenerhasset; and that Plt. Sam. Johnston conveyed his interest to Deft. John Betty for £10 with provisoe of redemption and a promise from Betty for restitution of the lands at any time when said £10 was paid. Interrogations on behalf of Deft: -- Did you know if Deft. John Betty was agent for Phebe Blenerhasset widow of Henry Blenerhasset? Do you know the lands called the estate of Tullycallrick in the Manor of Castle Hassett, Co. Fermanagh? How was Plt. Sam. Johnston seized thereof, by what lease and what was the value of Plt's purchase thereof in 1692? Did you hear Samuel Johnston was in arrear to said Henry Blenerhasset, Esq. or to his widow Phebe for sd lands? Did not Deft. John Betty pay said arrears? Did you know if Deft. John Betty paid or lent Plt, a sum for said arrears which was paid for him by Deft. John Betty on account of same? Did you know in what poor condition Plt. Sam Johnston was in at the time he desired Deft. to take over his lease and pay said arrear and whether Plt. agreed with Deft. John Betty, together with Jane Johnston his wife and his son John Johnston to convey their interest in said lands to Deft, John Betty? Have you heard Deft. John Betty conveyed the lands to Deft. James Johnston who has since considerably improved the lands; and how long is it since Deft. John Betty conveyed same to Jas Johnston? Were you present when Deft. John Betty came to an agreement touching the premises, and is the deed now produced the same you witnessed; and did you not hear that Plt. Sam Johnston demanded the consideration money from Deft. John Betty, and that same was a bona fide conveyance and was not obtained by fraud? Do you know if Plt. Sam Johnston became tenant afterwards on sd lands under Deft. John Betty from year to year, what rent did he pay, and if he has ever paid any rent to Deft. John Betty? Do you know if Deft. John Betty purchased said lands from Plt. if so, for what sum?
