Hon. James Macartney, Esq. who is dead, knows because the Dept. was often in company with James Macartney and Hugh Henry Esqrs his executors. This Dept. related to Aungier Gordon and often saw Hon. James Macartney in Aungier Gordon's house and dined with him. Knows lands of Toreen, Robinstown, Aghabrack, Ballamorris, Lisnenant, Higginstown, Tenephople, Toberphelin, Kinkilly, Ballencrosses, and Achaboy, Co. Longford, and the tithes thereof but doth not know Lisnabararty. That in 1712 to 1722 Aungier Gordon was seized of said lands, but only of the tithes for one year. That Anthony Shephard, Esq. received the rents of Higginstown, Aghabrack and Ballamorris by assignment from Aungier Gordon upon a mortgage debt. That Aungier Gordon had a lease of said lands from Ambrose Earl of Longford for 3 lives not renewable at £56 rent. Does not know about a mortgage made by Aungier Gordon to John Barrett. That Aungier Gordon owed Mr. Patrick McCally of Ballyboy £100 and another debt to Charles Reilly of Carthrangeeragh. That Francis Wilson was agent for Hon. James Macartney from 1718 till time of F. Wilson's death. That James Granaghan was bailiff of the manor of Granard and after the death of Aungier Gordon he seized farm stock and goods of Aungier's by direction of F. Wilson for rent due out of Robinstown. That the lands of Kilbride, Ballencrosses and Toberphelin are worth 8/- per acre from 1722 to this day and a clear profit rent of £53-7/- which was paid from 1722 to the present day to the agent of Hon James Macartney & his son James Macartney, Esq. That lands of Toreen from 1727 to this day are worth £33 profit yearly which was paid to the agents of James Macartney. This Depts. cause of knowledge because Dept. lived in neighborhood of said lands many years past and often saw said rents paid. Knew Alex Gordon was one of the sons of Aungier Gordon and that said Alex Gordon, Francis Gordon, & Anne Gordon alias McCally were heirs at law of Aungier by virtue of his will. That Alex Gordon is dead but does not know who is now his heir. [Signed] James Brock.
